An Prionsa Sona

An adaptation of the classic short story ‘The Happy Prince’ by Oscar Wilde.

A moving and magical story about a swallow and a prince both willing to give up everything to ease the hardship of others. As Autumn falls and the weather turns, will time run out for the Swallow to fly to the warmer climate in Egypt? What happens one fateful night when the golden statue of ‘The Happy Prince’ meets the Swallow?

In a world where  beauty is found in acts of kindness, The Happy Prince is a tale that inspires us all to perhaps be a little less selfish and a little kinder.

This new adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s famous story  is set in Ireland and in a town not unlike Galway! Audiences young and old will fall in love with the Swallow and ‘The Happy Prince’. This magical show is filled with music, song, dance and of course silliness from the pompous and bumbling  Mayor and Mayoress and our wonderful junior cast - A perfect family show for Christmas!

Our audiences can download the Sibwrd app to their phones to receive closed captioning in English or in Irish. The app is designed to make the show easy to follow, no matter what level of Irish you have. There will also be a relaxed performance on the 13th of December at 3pm.
