Alyson Cummins - Dearthóir Stáitse / Stage Designer

Alyson is an award winning set and costume designer. She began by studying architecture in University College Dublin where she was the winner of the AGA gold medal for graduating in first place. Following an internship in the Abbey Theatre and assisting various designers in theatre and television, she was awarded an Arts Council grant to train at the Motley Theatre Design School in London and was a finalist in the Linbury Biennial Prize for Stage Design. She went on to participate in Rough Magic’s SEEDS programme. She has won the Irish Times theatre award for best set design for her work on Pentecost and Volcano.

She has also assisted several designers including: Rae Smith, Es Devlin, Monica Frawley, Tom Pye and Eileen Diss. Roles include design associate on The Goat Theatre Royal Haymarket; Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Prince of the Pagodas and Les Troyens at La Scala.

Alyson studied Architecture at UCD and trained at Motley Theatre Design School. She was a finalist in the Linbury biennial prize for stage design in 2007.

Stephen Dodd - Dearthóir Soilsiúcháin / Lighting Designer

Stephen Dodd is an award winning Lighting Designer for theatre, dance, and opera based in Dublin and Cork. He trained at The Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College. He won Best Lighting Design Irish Times Theatre Awards 2022 for Volcano, Luke Murphy/ Attic Projects and was nominated for Best Lighting Design Irish Times Theatre Awards 2023 for An Octoroon, Abbey Theatre.

Kilian Waters - Dearthóir Scannanaíochta / Film Designer

Kilian Waters is an award-winning filmmaker, video designer, and creative producer with over 15 years of experience directing, shooting, editing, and producing across a wide range of projects. His screen credits include Turnaround (Best Short, Galway Film Fleadh 2024 – Cinematographer), Misread (RTÉ/Ardán Short – Producer), Headspace (Best Short, Cork Film Festival 2023 – Cinematographer), Lamb (Best Short, Dublin International Film Festival 2023 – Editor), the documentary Writing Home with Poetry Ireland (Director), and A Burning Tide with the Irish Writers Centre (Co-Producer/Director). Kilian is also a leading video designer and artist in Irish contemporary theatre. His work is narrative-driven, visually compelling, and designed to blend seamlessly with live performance. He has been a long-time collaborator with companies such as Brokentalkers, ANU, and Company SJ, contributing to some of the most innovative productions in recent Irish theatre. His work continues to bridge film and performance in dynamic and engaging ways.

Arcade Film Ltd is an award-winning film production company comprising Dan Keane and Kilian Waters; cinematographers, editors and creative producers with years of experience and success across short film, TV, documentary and video design. As a company Arcade believes in the creative power of collaboration and our passion is working with established and emerging talent to develop diverse and challenging stories. Some recent projects include Turnaround by Aisling Byrne, Winner Best Short Galway International Film Festival 2024; and Is Olc an Ghaoth, a TV drama directed by Tom Sullivan for TG4 which was nominated for the Royal Television Society, Screen Ireland Drama Award 2021. Arcade Film have been long-time collaborators with Brokentalkers, Company SJ, ANU and many other leading theatre professionals. Their video design work has been seen on stages and screens across the globe including The Tate Modern Liverpool and two permanent installations in 14 Henrietta St. (The Tenement Museum).

Matthew Martin is a sound designer and music producer from Dublin, working across ambient composition, abstract soundscapes, and rhythm-forward electronic forms. Matthew holds a diploma in Advanced Electronic Music Production from SAE Institute in London. He has released work under the alias Martello Give on multiple electronic music labels, including Snap on Ireland’s HRLA and Memento Mori on a compilation album from the experimental UK label Goodness. He is also one half of These Are Not Love Songs, a collaborative ambient duo based in Vancouver, Canada, creating and performing a blend of live and prepared audio.
