Evanne Kilgallon is an actor and writer from the west of Ireland. She recently starred as Shelly in Small Town, Big Story (Sky Studios, created by Chris O’Dowd). Other screen credits include Meabh in Poitín (BlocTG4) and series regular Kate in Obituary (RTÉ/Netflix/Hulu). Theatre credits include Circle of Friends (Gaiety Theatre), The Twenty Club (Glass Mask Theatre/Bewleys), Bench Tales (Kilkenny Arts Festival) among others.

As a theatre-maker, Evanne wrote and performed her debut play AN LÁR (Glass Mask Theatre), which received both critical and audience acclaim, “Kilgallon’s bilingual approach is a masterstroke, An Lár confirming her as a serious talent in the making.”- The Arts Review. She followed this with her one-woman show Jester’s Privilege, excerpts of which were performed at Scene + Heard and on an Irish tour. Her latest work-in-progress TECHNOPOETICA, an experimental spoken word and techno performance was recently performed at Electric Picnic.

A fluent Irish speaker, Evanne’s writing often explores the female experience, Irish mythology, bilingualism, and the use of dark humour to unravel difficult subjects.
